for old times sake
Something I started the day Wes died...

Thank you,  Wes Craven

As a kid I was in to all kinds of horror movies and Halloween, not surprisingly, my favorite holiday...far and away. I loved Lugosi, Lee, Karloff, Chaney...all the bigs and graduated to Michael Myers and Jason Vorhees as I entered my teens. My favorite however, was Fred Krueger. I think it's safe to say I'd drawn Freddy at least 10000, that's 4 zero's, ten thousand times before I left home for the army. Some kids have Mickey Mouse, I had Fred Krueger and I don't see an issue with that.

There was something limitless and fantastical about this creepy looking, burnt up old guy in a christmas sweater slicing up teenagers. He was frightening and not much frightened me, I enjoyed the adrenaline surge I suppose. Fred was unsettling and mysterious, I don't believe we ever got his best version, but with Wes gone, I kind of hope they let the character rest. Wes created some of the greatest horror the genre has ever seen and probably my favorite character ever in film history.

Somewhere, in my parents home, is a box full of versions of this mysterious, creepy, Wes Craven created boogeyman, here are some by other artists.

Bunch of pics of in progress works
